Please note that this gold tone jewelry is made of Tumbaga. Tumbaga is an alloy composed mostly copper and other metals. Tumbaga was widely used by the pre-Columbian cultures of central America. Unlike gold vermeil or goldplating tumbaga is a solid metal and the gold color will not rub or peel off. That being said, it should not be confused with 14Kt gold. Sterling Silver and Tumbaga can both tarnish when exposed to air and water. To keep your piece tarnish free we recommend storing it when it's not being worn. To remove tarnish, simply polish with a soft silver polishing cloth.
